Field of View is the amount or width of detail seen around the subject. These binoculars tend to make it less necessary to pan around or search and follow a moving subject. High Power (magnification) binoculars with lower Field of View can be unsuitable for some purposes, because you lose the subject when it moves; e.g. a jumpy bird, or speeding boat, will be harder to follow with 20x60 binoculars, although you might be able to see detail with amazing clarity.
