VISIONARY CLASSIC 7x50s are excellent general purpose binoculars. The 7x Magnification and 50mm Objective Lens give a Field of View of 6.8°; 119m - 1000m. Their medium-power magnification gives a bright, clear and stable image. This type of binocular is commonly used for bird watching, nature viewing and at racing and sports events.
A word about magnification - it often seems more sexy and macho to have very high magnification binoculars. Two of the drawbacks, especially with a moving subject, is that a) it's difficult to follow your subject and b) the hands tire after a few minutes. In most cases a tripod is needed. Lower magnification means better Field of View - less panning when the subject moves. This leads to more comfort and ease in using the binoculars.
Visionary Classic 7x50s are popular for marine use, with their exceptionally bright and stable image. This level of magnification is ideal for birdwatching. The combination of 7x magnification and 50mm front lens creates much brighter images than higher magnification models, resulting in comfortable long term use. This combination could be used as a budget astronomy or low light observation binocular.
They are robust and strong, with a tough and completely rubberised body. Their optics boast Multi-Coated lenses and BAK7 Prisms. Although the exacting birdwatcher will demand BAK4 optics (and usually pay several hundred pounds anyway!) there is little discernible difference and a half decent pair WITH BAK4 prisms will cost double what these do.
